We begin our adventure by gliding out of Hanoi via peaceful countryside roads, leaving the city’s noise behind and easing into open landscapes. The route along the Red River is calm and scenic, offering smooth curves and refreshing river views as we warm up for the days ahead. After a relaxing lunch near Thac Ba Lake, the experience shifts: we leave the main road and ride onto light gravel paths and easy dirt trails hugging the lakeside.

These trails flow gently through small villages, bamboo clusters, and rice paddies—perfect for medium riders wanting light adventure without technical challenges. The terrain is playful but comfortable, giving everyone a chance to enjoy a taste of off-road freedom.

As the afternoon settles, we reach Vu Linh, a quiet lakeside village of the Dzao people. A traditional homestay welcomes us with warm hospitality, local food, and peaceful views over the shimmering water. It’s the perfect first stop to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Today’s journey takes us deeper into the mountains. The morning begins with rolling provincial roads and scenic farmland views before we branch into dirt shortcuts winding through rice terraces. These off-road sections are gentle but fun—soft soil tracks, village lanes, and open fields that bring us closer to rural life.
Throughout the ride, we pass traditional stilt houses, tranquil streams, and working farmers in colorful attire. The combination of smooth on-road cruising and short bursts of off-road adventure keeps the day enjoyable, dynamic, and picturesque.
As Ha Giang approaches, the limestone formations rise dramatically, framing the landscape with impressive rock walls. The final stretch is a beautiful paved ride through valleys and riverside villages. We settle into a warm Hmong homestay surrounded by mountains, where an authentic dinner awaits.

This is where the scenery takes a thrilling turn. We ride into the Dong Van Karst Plateau on flowing mountain asphalt, passing viewpoints that reveal dramatic limestone peaks and deep green valleys. The ride is smooth but exciting, with sweeping curves perfect for Easy Riders.
We conquer Tham Ma Pass, stopping at scenic outlooks and visiting ethnic Hmong communities along the way. The landscapes here are unforgettable—twisting roads carved into mountainsides, rocky terraces, and traditional stone-walled villages.
For riders craving more adventure, we offer an optional off-road loop: a short but rewarding trail through remote farmland, clay hills, and narrow village paths. It’s an ideal way to add a little spice to the day.
We end in Dong Van Old Quarter, a charming town where ancient stone houses and local culture create the perfect highland atmosphere.

Day 4: (7th July, 2026) DONG VAN – MEO VAC – BAO LAC (APPROX. 120 KM) (B/L/D)
This day blends the best of both worlds—world-class on-road scenery and intimate off-road exploration. We begin with the majestic Ma Pi Leng Pass, a stretch of pristine asphalt carved along sheer cliffs overlooking the Nho Que Canyon. The view here is often described as one of the most beautiful in Asia, and the riding is smooth, exhilarating, and unforgettable.
After enjoying the viewpoints, we shift into an easy riverside dirt trail below the pass. This section winds through the valley floor, passing local farms and riverbeds. The terrain is varied—soft dirt, small rocks, and gentle slopes—yet remains accessible for all medium riders. Many consider this blend of canyon views and off-road riding the emotional highlight of the tour.
We stop for lunch in Meo Vac, then continue through mountain passes, rural villages, and short rocky paths before arriving in Bao Lac for a peaceful evening.
Day 5: (8th July, 2026) BAO LAC – BAN GIOC WATERFALL (APPROX. 200 KM) (B/L/D)

Today provides one of the richest riding experiences of the trip. We begin with a blend of open mountain roads and forest-lined backroads, then gradually move into dusty dirt trails and remote valley paths. These off-road segments offer a deeper look into the untouched countryside—bamboo forests, grazing buffalo, and ethnic villages seldom visited by tourists.
As we near Cao Bang, the mountains open into wide green basins dotted with limestone pillars. Soon we arrive at Ban Gioc Waterfall, where thunderous cascades plunge into emerald pools. The natural power of this border waterfall makes it one of Vietnam’s most iconic sights.
In the afternoon, we ride to Angel Eye Mountain, navigating a mix of curvy asphalt and grassy open-track terrain. The natural stone arch and surrounding valley form a landscape unlike anywhere else on the route.
We check into Saigon Ban Gioc Resort to rest after this exhilarating day.

Our morning begins with a visit to Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most impressive limestone caves in the region. From here, we ride through gentle countryside roads framed by karst mountains before transitioning into several gravel connectors that lead us toward Ba Be National Park.

These trails are light, scenic, and perfectly suited for Easy Rider-style exploration, offering glimpses of local life, forested hills, and hidden valley corners. As we enter Ba Be, the atmosphere becomes serene and idyllic.

A boat trip across Ba Be Lake allows us to slow down, relax, and soak in the stillness of the water and surrounding cliffs. We end the day in a lakeside homestay, enjoying traditional food and a cultural performance by local villagers.

Our final day is a smooth and satisfying ride back to Hanoi. The morning takes us through mountain foothills, riverside stretches, and a few short dirt paths that give one last off-road spark to the journey.
Midday transitions to gentle asphalt roads leading out of the countryside. The closer we get to the city, the more the landscapes open, giving time to reflect on the week’s memorable passes, dirt trails, waterfalls, and villages.
We reach Hanoi around 4 PM, completing a truly balanced adventure—smooth when needed, off-road when fun, and breathtaking every single day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We've got answers! Find common queries about our adventure programs.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.

For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.

The short answer is, there's never a bad time to visit Vietnam! Not all seasons are created equal though and there are pros and cons to each.
March - April is typically the best season in terms of weather to visit Vietnam. Expect sun, mild temperatures and limited rain! This also means busy season, so make sure to book in advance if you plan to visit during these months.
May - August is the hotter times of the year in Vietnam and also the rainier season. Don't be too scared of the rain though! It typically only lasts an hour or two per day, if that. This rarely disrupts travel or our tours and you get to enjoy warmer weather.
September - November are a secret gem of a time to visit Vietnam. The temperature becomes more moderate than the summer, rain stops, and the conditions are perfect for trekking or motorcycle trips. This is also when Full Moon Celebrations happen in Vietnam, so it's a particularly festive season to experience Vietnamese culture.
December - February are the coldest months in Vietnam. During these months you may prefer to visit the southern parts of Vietnam which are warmer, and we have many tours that operate there!
