We leave Hanoi and ride north with the serene Hong Son Lake beside us, taking in magnificent views of tiny island clusters nestled between lush forests and dramatic limestone peaks—a truly picture-perfect landscape. As we continue our journey on smooth, open roads, more beautiful scenery unfolds around every turn.
By afternoon, we arrive in Mai Chau, with some free time to stroll through the valley and explore its peaceful surroundings before dinner. In the evening, we enjoy an authentic traditional Thai dance performance, offering a closer look at the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Today, depart from the charming town of Hoi An and set out on an exhilarating ride toward Mang Den. Your route follows the scenic Phuoc Son trail, winding through lush mountain landscapes and quiet rural villages. Along the way, you’ll pass through remote areas inhabited by the Ba Na ethnic group, offering an authentic glimpse into the region’s cultural and natural beauty.
As you near Mang Den—often called the “second Da Lat” for its cool climate and peaceful atmosphere—you’ll be welcomed by pine forests, tranquil lakes, and refreshing mountain air. Upon arrival, take time to relax and soak in the serene surroundings.

Today’s ride is an easier one as you make your way toward the coast. Leaving the Tay Son highlands behind, you’ll descend toward the lowlands and, about 30 km north of Nha Trang, rejoin Highway 1 before following the picturesque coastal road. The journey offers enchanting views of emerald-green waters and colorful fishing boats dotting the shoreline like tiny gems, guiding you all the way to the popular beach city of Nha Trang.
You’ll spend the night in a hotel in Nha Trang.
Day 11: (20th Sept, 2026) Nha Trang – Relaxation Day (B)

This is your dedicated relaxation day on the Vietnam motorcycle tour, complemented by a full-day boat excursion. In the morning, you’ll set sail to explore four different islands, enjoying the sun, sea breeze, and vibrant coastal scenery. Lunch is served on the boat as you continue your journey across the bay.

After a relaxing day yesterday, you’ll be ready for today’s 150-kilometer mountain ride—one that showcases some of the most iconic scenery featured in the BBC’s Top Gear Vietnam Special (2008). The route leads you into the Central Highlands and toward Da Lat, the famed “City of Love.” This charming destination has long been adored by both locals and the French for its extraordinary beauty—majestic waterfalls, evergreen forests, tranquil lakes, vibrant flower gardens, and fresh agricultural produce. For decades, it has served as a refreshing retreat for those seeking relief from the heat of the lowlands.
With so much to explore, you can spend the afternoon discovering Da Lat’s highlights. Popular options include its renowned gardens, the Valley of Love, picturesque pagodas, breathtaking waterfalls, or the elegant architecture of the cathedral, convent, and university.
You’ll spend the night in Da Lat.
Day 13: (22nd Sept, 2026) Da Lat – Cat Tien National Park (Approx. 200 Km) (B/L/D)

Following Road 20, you ride toward Cat Tien National Park, an area that once served as a strategic militia headquarters during the Vietnam War. The park endured significant hardship during that time, having been heavily sprayed with herbicides. Even today, much of the vegetation still bears the impact—trees remain sparse in certain areas, and stretches of the landscape are covered mainly with grass and bamboo.
You’ll spend the night at a hotel in Cat Tien National Park.
Day 14: (23rd Sept, 2026) Cat Tien – Saigon (Approx. 160 Km) (B/L)

Although today’s route is relatively short, the ride can still be demanding as traffic intensifies upon entering Saigon. The journey concludes once we arrive at the train station. Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.
For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.
The short answer is, there's never a bad time to visit Vietnam! Not all seasons are created equal though and there are pros and cons to each.
March - April is typically the best season in terms of weather to visit Vietnam. Expect sun, mild temperatures and limited rain! This also means busy season, so make sure to book in advance if you plan to visit during these months.
May - August is the hotter times of the year in Vietnam and also the rainier season. Don't be too scared of the rain though! It typically only lasts an hour or two per day, if that. This rarely disrupts travel or our tours and you get to enjoy warmer weather.
September - November are a secret gem of a time to visit Vietnam. The temperature becomes more moderate than the summer, rain stops, and the conditions are perfect for trekking or motorcycle trips. This is also when Full Moon Celebrations happen in Vietnam, so it's a particularly festive season to experience Vietnamese culture.
December - February are the coldest months in Vietnam. During these months you may prefer to visit the southern parts of Vietnam which are warmer, and we have many tours that operate there!
