Departing Hanoi, we ride northwest into the serene landscapes surrounding Hòa Bình Lake, where calm emerald waters wind between limestone islets, forested hills, and rising mountains — a striking first encounter with Northern Vietnam’s natural beauty.
As the road climbs, wide views open over rolling valleys and traditional villages nestled into the hillsides. By late afternoon, we arrive in Mai Châu, with time to wander the village, meet local families, or simply relax before dinner.
The evening concludes with an authentic Thai cultural performance, followed by an overnight stay in a traditional stilt-house homestay — warm, welcoming, and deeply immersive.

Today’s ride weaves together dramatic scenery and deep history. Following the Đà River, we pass ancient cave sites where early stone tools were discovered, offering glimpses into the region’s prehistoric roots.
A short local ferry crossing opens sweeping views of rugged mountains and quiet riverbanks. After lunch in Bắc Yên, we continue along peaceful riverside roads toward Phù Yên, arriving in the afternoon to settle into a comfortable hotel for the night.

After breakfast, we leave Phù Yên and ride through gentle countryside shaped by rice paddies, hillside villages, and flowing mountain roads. It’s a relaxed riding day, allowing time to ease into the rhythm of rural Vietnam.
Following lunch, we continue on to Nghĩa Lộ. The afternoon is free to unwind, enjoy the surrounding scenery, and recharge — preparing for the more demanding mountain routes ahead.

We ride north toward Sa Pa via the legendary Ô Quy Hồ Pass, one of Vietnam’s highest and most dramatic mountain roads. Along the way, cloud-filled valleys, lush plantations, and towering peaks unfold around every bend.
Arriving in Sa Pa, you’ll have time to explore at your own pace — visit the iconic stone church or wander through the town’s lively streets. Overnight in a cozy local homestay, surrounded by cool mountain air and alpine scenery.

Today offers two rewarding options:
Option 1 – Fansipan Peak & Cát Cát Village
Take the cable car to Fansipan Peak, the “Roof of Indochina,” where sweeping mountain views stretch endlessly into the clouds. Continue to Cát Cát Village, a traditional Hmong settlement known for terraced hillsides, handicrafts, and rich cultural heritage.
Option 2 – Lao Chải & Tả Van Trek
Enjoy a scenic trek through Mường Hoa Valley, walking between emerald rice terraces and quiet rivers. Visit Lao Chải and Tả Van villages, home to Hmong and Giày communities, for an authentic glimpse into highland life.
Both options offer meaningful cultural encounters and exceptional photography opportunities.

After breakfast, we browse Sa Pa’s vibrant local market before setting off on a demanding yet rewarding ride toward Hà Giang. The route winds through steep passes, tight switchbacks, and dramatic highland terrain — perfect for riders seeking challenge and reward.
If time permits, we pause at Thanh Hà Hot Springs for a relaxing soak before continuing to Hà Giang, where we overnight in a comfortable hotel.

A highlight is the Hmong King’s Palace, a striking blend of French and Chinese architecture that tells the story of the region’s past. By late afternoon, we arrive in Đồng Văn and check into a local hotel.

We continue onward to Bảo Lạc, where the evening is spent resting after a truly unforgettable day on the road.

The morning begins with a visit to a Lô Lô ethnic village, home to one of Northern Vietnam’s smallest and most distinctive communities. Explore traditional stilt houses and admire vibrant handmade costumes that reflect a deeply preserved cultural identity.
From here, we ride through quiet valleys and scenic countryside toward the spectacular Bản Giốc Waterfall. By afternoon, we arrive at our resort near the falls, with time to relax and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.

We start the day at Bản Giốc Waterfall, one of the world’s largest waterfalls located on a national border. Thundering cascades, turquoise pools, and nearby viewpoints make this a highlight for nature lovers and photographers alike.
We then explore Ngườm Ngao Cave, an impressive limestone system filled with dramatic stalactites and stalagmites. In the afternoon, we ride toward Ba Bể Lake, passing through forested landscapes and karst formations before arriving in this tranquil lake region.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.

For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.

The short answer is, there's never a bad time to visit Vietnam! Not all seasons are created equal though and there are pros and cons to each.
March - April is typically the best season in terms of weather to visit Vietnam. Expect sun, mild temperatures and limited rain! This also means busy season, so make sure to book in advance if you plan to visit during these months.
May - August is the hotter times of the year in Vietnam and also the rainier season. Don't be too scared of the rain though! It typically only lasts an hour or two per day, if that. This rarely disrupts travel or our tours and you get to enjoy warmer weather.
September - November are a secret gem of a time to visit Vietnam. The temperature becomes more moderate than the summer, rain stops, and the conditions are perfect for trekking or motorcycle trips. This is also when Full Moon Celebrations happen in Vietnam, so it's a particularly festive season to experience Vietnamese culture.
December - February are the coldest months in Vietnam. During these months you may prefer to visit the southern parts of Vietnam which are warmer, and we have many tours that operate there!
