Your adventure begins on the outskirts of Hanoi, where your motorbike crew and guide team welcome you with a detailed tour briefing. After a hearty breakfast, we follow smooth riverside roads tracing the picturesque Red River toward Thac Ba Lake.

The terrain gradually becomes more rugged as we approach Vu Linh, a tranquil lakeside village of the Dzao people. Warm hospitality, traditional customs, and a cozy Dzao homestay set the tone for the cultural immersion awaiting in Northern Vietnam.

We ride into the arms of the misty Hoang Lien Son mountains, passing terraced rice fields, thick forests, and hill-tribe villages inhabited by the Hmong and Dzao.

After a scenic lunch, the landscapes grow more dramatic as we climb into Sapa, the region’s cultural and trekking capital. The afternoon is yours—wander the lively town center, visit Cat Cat Village, or simply enjoy Sapa’s cool mountain atmosphere.

A relaxing evening awaits in this vibrant highland town.

We depart Sapa and make our way to Bac Ha, famed for its colorful ethnic markets and rich Flower Hmong culture. The morning ride is a scenic blend of rolling mountains and quiet hill-tribe hamlets.
After exploring Bac Ha Market, we continue toward Xin Man, a peaceful and lesser-visited highland district. Verdant valleys, waterfalls, and rural farmlands dominate today’s ride. Upon arrival, we settle into our accommodation and enjoy the tranquility of this authentic mountain town.

We begin with a visit to the bustling Xin Man morning market before riding through stunning mountain passes toward Hoang Su Phi, known for its legendary terraced rice fields.
After lunch, the adventure intensifies with a challenging 40km off-road section crossing the dramatic Tay Con Linh Mountain Range—dense jungle, steep climbs, and thrilling trails make this a standout section of the tour.
Back on paved roads, we cruise into Ha Giang and, time permitting, visit the refreshing Ha Thanh Waterfall. Overnight in the provincial capital.

Today is perfect for adventurous riders. River crossings, broken roads, and rugged mountain trails test your skills while rewarding you with breathtaking panoramas. With photo stops, breaks, and lunch included, expect a total riding duration of around six hours.

In the afternoon, we arrive at Ba Be Lake, Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lake. A relaxing boat trip reveals hidden corners of the lake, surrounded by limestone cliffs and dense forests.

We overnight at Ba Be Lake View Homestay, enjoying a Tay-style dinner and a taste of “happy water” before resting in traditional stilt houses.

Following breakfast, we ride toward the northeastern borderlands. The route blends mountain roads with rugged off-road tracks, offering varied scenery and rewarding viewpoints along the way.

Upon reaching Ban Gioc Waterfall, admire one of Southeast Asia’s most impressive waterfalls—powerful cascades surrounded by lush jungle and dramatic limestone formations. Overnight near the falls.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.

For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.

The short answer is, there's never a bad time to visit Vietnam! Not all seasons are created equal though and there are pros and cons to each.
March - April is typically the best season in terms of weather to visit Vietnam. Expect sun, mild temperatures and limited rain! This also means busy season, so make sure to book in advance if you plan to visit during these months.
May - August is the hotter times of the year in Vietnam and also the rainier season. Don't be too scared of the rain though! It typically only lasts an hour or two per day, if that. This rarely disrupts travel or our tours and you get to enjoy warmer weather.
September - November are a secret gem of a time to visit Vietnam. The temperature becomes more moderate than the summer, rain stops, and the conditions are perfect for trekking or motorcycle trips. This is also when Full Moon Celebrations happen in Vietnam, so it's a particularly festive season to experience Vietnamese culture.
December - February are the coldest months in Vietnam. During these months you may prefer to visit the southern parts of Vietnam which are warmer, and we have many tours that operate there!
