Our journey begins from Hanoi, embarking on a 170-kilometer ride to the tranquil haven of Mai Chau. With the river as our guide, we head north to Long Ho Lake. En route, we're treated to captivating scenery – small islands crowned by tall evergreen trees, standing against endless limestone peaks. It's a perfect blend of serenity and wilderness.

Continuing northward, the smooth road offers breathtaking views, unfolding the beauty of the surroundings. By afternoon, we arrive in Mai Chau. Take time to explore the village, experiencing the daily life of the white Thai people. Evening brings a delicious dinner with traditional Vietnamese dishes and a touch of local "happy water" – rice wine. And don't miss the local performance, a Thai Dance music show, a wonderful way to end the day.

Day 2: Mai Chau - Ta Xua (200km) (B/L/D)

Exploration and Heights: From Mai Chau to Ta Xua

Today, we bid farewell to Mai Chau and continue our exhilarating Vietnam motorbike journey. Along the way, we traverse a small dirt road, passing by significant archaeological caves that hold relics of the past. Crossing the Da River with a local ferry, our path is framed by majestic mountains to the right and the tranquil river to the left. The ride crescendos as we ascend Ta Xua mountain, reaching altitudes of over 1000 meters. Known as the "Heaven of Cloudy Beach" this mountaintop marvel offers astounding vistas. We cap off the day with an extraordinary homestay experience atop the Ta Xua mountains.

Day 3: Ta Xua - Hanoi ( 180km) (B/L)

In this morning we will wake up for breakfast, enjoy the wonderful scenery of mountains surrounding, then jump up to our supper cool dirt bike to start our day. We will ride on a narrow trail on a mountain called dinosaur's back bone. Standing here is likely we are walking on the cloud or floating on the sea of cloud and your soul will be relieved and free from all fatigue as well as sorrows about daily normal life. Right here, you can shoot lots of nice photos from the top of the mount. Later on, we’ll ride back to the foot of mountain where we have a lunch before We ride back to Hanoi on dyke roads to avoid the heavy traffic and breaking out of the delta plains along the Red river.

We come back to Hanoi about 4h30pm.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.

For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.

The short answer is, there's never a bad time to visit Vietnam! Not all seasons are created equal though and there are pros and cons to each.

March - April is typically the best season in terms of weather to visit Vietnam. Expect sun, mild temperatures and limited rain! This also means busy season, so make sure to book in advance if you plan to visit during these months.

May - August is the hotter times of the year in Vietnam and also the rainier season. Don't be too scared of the rain though! It typically only lasts an hour or two per day, if that. This rarely disrupts travel or our tours and you get to enjoy warmer weather.

September - November are a secret gem of a time to visit Vietnam. The temperature becomes more moderate than the summer, rain stops, and the conditions are perfect for trekking or motorcycle trips. This is also when Full Moon Celebrations happen in Vietnam, so it's a particularly festive season to experience Vietnamese culture.

December - February are the coldest months in Vietnam. During these months you may prefer to visit the southern parts of Vietnam which are warmer, and we have many tours that operate there!
