Itinerary

Day 1: HANOI – VU LINH (APPROX. 180 KM) (L/D)

Your Northern Vietnam big bike adventure begins just outside Hanoi. After a detailed safety briefing and breakfast, we hit the road—cruising along the scenic western outskirts of the capital, following the winding Red River.
Smooth, well-paved roads make for an ideal warm-up ride before reaching Thac Ba Lake, one of Northern Vietnam’s largest and most picturesque lakes. From there, we continue along gentle countryside roads to Vu Linh village, home to the Dzao ethnic people.
Spend the evening at a lakeside homestay, where warm hospitality and local cuisine offer the perfect introduction to Northern Vietnam’s culture and charm.
Day 2: VU LINH – HA GIANG (APPROX. 190 KM) (B/L/D)

Today’s ride takes us deeper into the mountains as we head toward Ha Giang, the gateway to Vietnam’s legendary northern frontier.
The route offers an exhilarating mix of winding tarmac and scenic riverside stretches—perfect for mid-sized adventure bikes. Along the way, we’ll pass quiet rural villages, rice terraces, and poetic streams.
Arriving in Ha Giang, we settle into a comfortable local homestay within a Hmong community. The evening is free to unwind, enjoy a traditional meal, and prepare for the stunning highland roads ahead.
Day 3: HA GIANG – DONG VAN (APPROX. 155 KM) (B/L/D)

One of the most iconic riding days in Vietnam awaits. From Ha Giang, we ascend into the limestone mountains of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark.
The thrilling curves of Tham Ma Pass invite you to lean into each turn while panoramic mountain views unfold around every bend. This region is not only a rider’s paradise but also a cultural mosaic of hill-tribe villages and ancient traditions.
We arrive in Dong Van, a charming mountain town where French colonial architecture meets Hmong heritage. Check into your hotel and explore the evening local market or simply enjoy a quiet night surrounded by the beauty of the highlands.
Day 4: DONG VAN – MEO VAC – BAO LAC (APPROX. 120 KM) (B/L/D)

The ride from Dong Van to Bao Lac via Ma Pi Leng Pass is nothing short of legendary—often regarded as the most spectacular road in Vietnam.
Carved into sheer cliffs high above the Nho Que River, this stretch rewards riders with endless switchbacks and cinematic mountain views that seem to float above the clouds.
We stop in Meo Vac for lunch before continuing through twisting valleys toward Bao Lac, where we rest overnight at a comfortable local hotel. This is the kind of day that makes every rider fall in love with Vietnam’s northern frontier.
Day 5: BAO LAC – BAN GIOC WATERFALL (APPROX. 200 KM) (B/L/D)

Today’s long yet rewarding ride takes us through a mix of open mountain roads and remote valleys en route to Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in Asia.
Feel the smooth power of your big bike as you cruise through Cao Bang’s pristine landscapes, eventually arriving at Nui Thung Mountain and the breathtaking Ban Gioc Falls, cascading right on the Vietnam–China border.
We overnight at Sai Gon Ban Gioc Resort, nestled in the tranquil countryside beside the waterfall—perfect for relaxing after a full day of exploration.
Day 6: BAN GIOC – BA BE LAKE (APPROX. 200 KM) (B/L/D)

After breakfast with a view of the falls, we visit Nguom Ngao Cave, famous for its impressive stalactite formations. Then, we continue riding through rural backroads toward the peaceful Ba Be Lake, Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lake.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip across Ba Be Lake, surrounded by lush karst peaks and hidden caves. In the evening, experience a cultural performance by the Tay ethnic people before staying overnight at a lakeside homestay.
Day 7: BA BE – HANOI (APPROX. 220 KM) (B/L)

Our final day offers a relaxed yet scenic return to Hanoi. The route winds through green valleys and charming villages, with open roads perfect for a smooth big bike ride.
We arrive in Hanoi by late afternoon, completing the 7-day Far North Frontier Loop—an unforgettable blend of adventure riding, local culture, and natural beauty.
