Kicking off our motorbike adventure, we rendezvous at the outskirts of the bustling city, where our trusty motorcycles await. Following a comprehensive briefing on the itinerary and a hearty breakfast, we set our course. Our chosen path leads us along the western edge of the city, tracing the meandering Red River. The well-maintained roads are ideal for motorcycle touring, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride.
Our inaugural destination is the breathtaking Thac Ba Lake, a natural jewel of the region. From here, our journey takes an adventurous turn as we ascend a rugged trail to reach the captivating Vu Linh village. Nestled beside the tranquil lakeshore, Vu Linh is the ancestral home of the Dzao indigenous people, promising authentic cultural encounters and heartwarming hospitality.
The warm embrace of the Dzao community awaits, as we find lodging in their homestay for our first night. This signifies the commencement of our extraordinary voyage through northern Vietnam, where each twist and turn of the road reveals the true essence of this captivating region.
Today, the journey itself becomes the highlight. As we navigate the breathtaking 21-km stretch of Mã Pí Lèng Pass, it's easy to understand its reputation as Vietnam's most awe-inspiring roadway. Towering limestone peaks, clothed in vibrant green, rise majestically, their slopes plunging into the deep river valleys below - it's the kind of scenic grandeur that wanderlust is built on. Our path eventually leads us to Bao Lac, a vibrant confluence of diverse ethnicities from Northeast Vietnam. Its Sunday market is a lively tapestry of cultures, drawing communities from across the border regions. Our day of exploration concludes with a restful night at a local hotel.
On the last day with Vietnam motorbike tours, we have to start earlier than other days for the long riding from Northeast Vietnam back to Hanoi. It will be challenging but what nature can offer to you on the way is worth every hour you spend on riding. We will reach Ha Noi before the rush hour, roughly 4 pm and finish the motorcycle tour in North Vietnam, specially tailored by Vietnam Motorbike Tour team.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.
For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.
