(2Nd–12Th April 2027) Northern Vietnam – 11 Days Ride
Itinerary
Your journey begins in Hanoi, heading northwest toward the tranquil landscapes of Hòa Bình Lake. The road winds past emerald waters, limestone outcrops, and forested hills, offering a stunning introduction to Northern Vietnam. By afternoon, arrive in Mai Chau, where you can explore the peaceful village before enjoying a traditional Thai dance performance. Overnight in a local stilt-house homestay.
Ride alongside the scenic Đà River, passing ancient cave sites that hint at the region’s early history. After a short ferry crossing, continue through remote mountain landscapes and quiet riverside roads. Arrive in Phù Yên in the afternoon and settle into a comfortable hotel for the night.
Leave Phù Yên behind and travel through gentle countryside filled with rice paddies and small villages. This is a relaxed riding day, allowing you to fully enjoy the scenery before reaching Nghĩa Lộ, where the afternoon is yours to rest and recharge.
Journey toward Sapa via the dramatic Ô Quy Hồ Pass, one of the most impressive mountain roads in Vietnam. Surrounded by clouds, valleys, and towering peaks, the ride is both thrilling and scenic. Upon arrival, explore the town at your leisure and stay overnight in a cozy homestay.
Enjoy a well-earned break in Sapa. Take the day at your own pace—wander through the town, relax, or opt for light exploration such as visiting Fansipan or nearby villages. This flexible day allows you to fully unwind and soak in the mountain atmosphere.
After visiting the local market, set off toward Ha Giang. The route becomes more challenging, with winding mountain passes that offer both excitement and incredible views. If time allows, enjoy a stop at local hot springs before overnighting in Ha Giang.
Continue deeper into the northern highlands, riding through spectacular limestone landscapes. Visit Quan Ba, Yen Minh, and the historic Pho Bang village before exploring the Hmong King’s Palace. End the day in Dong Van with an overnight stay.
Ride across the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, where dramatic cliffs overlook the winding Nho Que River. This is one of the most unforgettable sections of the tour. Continue on to Bao Lac for the night.
Visit a Lo Lo ethnic village to gain insight into one of Vietnam’s most unique minority cultures. Continue through scenic countryside to Ban Gioc Waterfall, a breathtaking natural wonder. Relax and stay overnight at a nearby resort.
Start the day exploring Ban Gioc Waterfall and the impressive Nguom Ngao Cave. Then ride toward Ba Be Lake, surrounded by lush forests and peaceful landscapes.
On the final day, ride back to Hanoi through scenic countryside roads. As the city comes back into view, the journey concludes—leaving you with lasting memories of Northern Vietnam’s landscapes, culture, and adventure.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.
For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.
