Depart from Hanoi and ride north through scenic countryside, with views of lakes, limestone peaks, and lush forests along the way. Arrive in Mai Chau, a peaceful valley known for its stilt houses and rich Thai culture. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dance performance before settling in for the night.

Ride along the Da River, passing dramatic landscapes and ancient archaeological sites. A local ferry crossing adds a touch of adventure as you continue along winding riverside roads toward Phu Yen. Surrounded by mountains and quiet countryside, this leg offers both beauty and cultural insight.
Leave Phu Yen behind and travel through rolling hills, rice fields, and remote villages. The journey is peaceful yet visually rewarding, with ever-changing scenery that highlights the charm of Northern Vietnam’s countryside. Arrive in Nghia Lo and relax after a scenic day on the road.
Ride through dramatic mountain passes, including the famous Quy Ho Pass, surrounded by clouds and sweeping landscapes. Arrive in Sapa, where terraced rice fields and cool mountain air create a stunning setting. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Stone Church and enjoy the lively local culture.
Take a break from riding and enjoy a free day in Sapa. Choose to visit Fansipan via cable car for breathtaking views, or explore nearby villages like Cat Cat or Lao Chai and Ta Van. Discover ethnic cultures, scenic valleys, and the beauty of terraced landscapes at your own pace.
Continue your journey toward Ha Giang, riding through challenging mountain roads and vibrant local markets. This route tests your riding skills while offering incredible scenery. Optional stops include relaxing hot springs before arriving in Ha Giang.
Enter the legendary Ha Giang Loop and ride through dramatic mountain landscapes. Stop at viewpoints in Quang Ba, explore ancient villages like Pho Bang, and visit the historic Vuong Palace. End the day in Dong Van, surrounded by rugged beauty and rich cultural heritage.
Ride across the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam’s most iconic routes. Overlooking the Nho Que River, the views are unforgettable. Continue through remote mountainous regions to Bao Lac, a meeting point of diverse ethnic communities.
Visit a traditional Lo Lo village before riding through scenic countryside to the majestic Ban Gioc waterfall. This natural wonder, shared between Vietnam and China, offers stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.
For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.
