Experience the ultimate 8-day motorcycle adventure through Northwest Vietnam, riding from Hanoi into some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in Southeast Asia. This journey takes you through the peaceful valley of Mai Chau, the tea-covered hills of Moc Chau, the remote highlands of Phu Yen and Nghia Lo, and the world-famous rice terraces of Mu Cang Chai.
Continue across legendary mountain passes to Sapa, where ethnic cultures and dramatic scenery create a truly unique atmosphere. Enjoy a full day exploring Sapa and its surrounding valleys at your own pace before descending to the tranquil waters of Thac Ba Lake. Itinerary
Leave Hanoi and ride along the Red River into the scenic countryside of Hoa Binh. Arrive in Mai Chau, a peaceful valley home to the White Thai ethnic group. Explore traditional villages, rice fields, and enjoy a cultural dance performance before staying overnight in a stilt house.
Ride through Moc Chau’s vast tea plantations and continue along Road 43. Cross the Da River by local ferry and follow quiet mountain roads to Phu Yen, where you’ll stay in a welcoming local homestay.
Cross the historic Lung Lo Pass, known for its sweeping mountain views and wartime significance. Continue through scenic valleys and rural landscapes before reaching Nghia Lo.
Conquer the famous Khau Pha Pass and stop at breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Tu Le Valley. Arrive in Mu Cang Chai, renowned for its iconic terraced rice fields and H’Mong culture.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.
For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.
