Your exciting Northern Vietnam motorbike adventure begins just outside the vibrant capital city of Hanoi, where the team gathers for bike collection and a detailed tour briefing. After enjoying breakfast, we set off along scenic roads bordering the Red River, leaving behind the city’s busy atmosphere for the peaceful countryside.
As the journey unfolds, we ride through beautiful rural landscapes toward the stunning Thac Ba Lake, one of Northern Vietnam’s hidden natural treasures. From there, the route becomes more adventurous with rugged trails leading us to Vu Linh village, a peaceful lakeside community inhabited by the Dzao ethnic people.
Upon arrival, we are warmly welcomed into a traditional homestay, where the hospitality of the local families offers an authentic cultural experience. Surrounded by tranquil scenery and rich traditions, the first day sets the tone for an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking mountains and ethnic cultures of Northern Vietnam.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to the peaceful village of Vu Linh and continue north toward the spectacular landscapes of Ha Giang. Today’s ride takes us through winding mountain roads, charming villages, and picturesque valleys dotted with streams and rice fields.
Along the route, we encounter local communities and witness the simple daily life of Northern Vietnam’s ethnic minorities. One of the day’s highlights is crossing the famous monkey bridge, adding a fun and adventurous touch to the journey.
As the scenery gradually changes into dramatic mountain terrain, we arrive in Ha Giang, the gateway to Vietnam’s legendary mountain loop. Tonight, we stay at a traditional Hmong homestay, where guests can relax, enjoy local cuisine, and immerse themselves in the unique culture of the region.

Today’s adventure takes us deep into the heart of the Ha Giang mountains as we ride toward the historic town of Dong Van. The route is packed with spectacular scenery and thrilling mountain roads, including the famous Tham Ma Pass, known for its dramatic curves and panoramic viewpoints.
Every kilometer reveals breathtaking landscapes of limestone peaks, deep valleys, and remote villages perched on the hillsides. The ride offers the perfect combination of excitement and natural beauty, making it one of the most memorable days of the tour.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Dong Van, a charming town rich in history and ethnic culture. After checking into a local hotel, there is time to explore the old quarter and soak in the peaceful atmosphere before enjoying dinner and resting for the next day’s adventure.

The fourth day delivers one of the most iconic riding experiences in Vietnam as we journey through the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass. Towering mountains and steep cliffs surround the winding roads, while the emerald waters of the Nho Que River flow far below.
For riders seeking extra excitement, the adventure continues with an off-road single-track route along the river, offering both challenge and incredible scenery. Afterward, we stop in Meo Vac for lunch and a chance to recharge.
In the afternoon, we enjoy a relaxing bamboo raft trip on the Nho Que River, where the peaceful surroundings provide a perfect contrast to the thrilling ride earlier in the day. As evening approaches, we continue toward Bao Lac and settle into a comfortable local hotel for the night.

Leaving Bao Lac behind, we continue our journey through scenic mountain roads toward one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking natural wonders — Ban Gioc Waterfall. Located on the border between Vietnam and China, this magnificent waterfall is famous for its powerful cascades and spectacular limestone surroundings.
Along the way, we also visit Nui Thung Mountain, often called the “God Eye Mountain” due to its unique natural formation. The panoramic views from this area provide excellent photo opportunities and unforgettable memories of Northern Vietnam’s dramatic landscapes.
By evening, we arrive at Sai Gon Ban Gioc Resort, where we can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere near the waterfall after another rewarding day on the road.

After breakfast with views of the stunning Ban Gioc Waterfall, we begin another incredible day of exploration. Our first stop is Nguom Ngao Cave, a fascinating underground cave system filled with impressive rock formations and natural chambers.
Continuing through beautiful countryside roads, we make our way to Ba Be Lake, one of Vietnam’s largest and most scenic freshwater lakes. Surrounded by lush forests and towering limestone mountains, the lake offers a peaceful escape into nature.
Upon arrival, we enjoy a relaxing boat trip across the calm waters, discovering hidden corners of the lake and admiring the untouched beauty of the national park. In the evening, local ethnic communities welcome us with a traditional dance performance before we settle into a cozy lakeside homestay.
Day 7: (16th Nov, 2026) BA BE – HANOI (APPROX 220 KM) (B/L)

On the final day of the journey, we leave the tranquil surroundings of Ba Be Lake and begin the ride back to Hanoi. The route takes us once again through Northern Vietnam’s beautiful countryside, offering time to reflect on the incredible experiences shared throughout the tour.
As we approach Hanoi, the peaceful mountain scenery gradually gives way to the lively atmosphere of the capital city. Arriving in Hanoi around 4 PM marks the end of an unforgettable motorbike adventure filled with spectacular landscapes, cultural encounters, and thrilling roads.
Though the tour concludes here, the memories of Northern Vietnam’s mountain passes, waterfalls, and warm-hearted communities will remain long after the journey ends.

Test Despite of the fact that Vietnamese government attempts to outlaw the practice, the US Dollars still acts as an alternative currency which is almost completely interchangeable with Vietnam Dong. Many prices, especially for hotels, tours and expensive restaurants, are still quoted in USD, though you can pay in dong if you’d rather - just check what exchange rate they’re using.

For everyday expenses, we recommend you carry a mix of US Dollars cash and Vietnam Dong. For larger items or when the exchange rate works in your favour, use dollars. For cyclos, local food stalls and small purchases, it’s best to use Vietnam Dong. In either case, make sure you always have a stock of small notes so that there is no need to worry about change.

The short answer is, there's never a bad time to visit Vietnam! Not all seasons are created equal though and there are pros and cons to each.
March - April is typically the best season in terms of weather to visit Vietnam. Expect sun, mild temperatures and limited rain! This also means busy season, so make sure to book in advance if you plan to visit during these months.
May - August is the hotter times of the year in Vietnam and also the rainier season. Don't be too scared of the rain though! It typically only lasts an hour or two per day, if that. This rarely disrupts travel or our tours and you get to enjoy warmer weather.
September - November are a secret gem of a time to visit Vietnam. The temperature becomes more moderate than the summer, rain stops, and the conditions are perfect for trekking or motorcycle trips. This is also when Full Moon Celebrations happen in Vietnam, so it's a particularly festive season to experience Vietnamese culture.
December - February are the coldest months in Vietnam. During these months you may prefer to visit the southern parts of Vietnam which are warmer, and we have many tours that operate there!
